What Flippi does

Flippi helps you decide whether to buy a secondhand item before you pay for it. Take a photo of something at a thrift store, estate sale, or flea market — Flippi analyzes it and tells you what it's likely worth, where to resell it, and whether it's a smart buy at the price in front of you.

Flippi is a buying decision tool. It answers one question: is this item worth picking up?

How Flippi works

  • Upload a photo of the item — or paste one directly from your clipboard
  • Add an optional note: brand, where you found it, asking price, or anything else relevant
  • Flippi analyzes the image using AI vision and 2026 resale market data
  • You get a full result in seconds: scores, price estimates, platform recommendations, and buying advice

The more detail you add in the note field, the more accurate the result. Mentioning the brand, condition, or where you found it helps Flippi give you better guidance.

What Real Score means

Real Score is a marketability signal — a 0–100 confidence rating based on what Flippi can see in your photo.

  • 80+ Strong signals — clear brand markers, good condition, recognizable item
  • 50–79 Moderate signals — item is identifiable but some details unclear
  • Below 50 Weak signals — limited brand evidence, condition unclear, or replica indicators present

Real Score is not an authentication certificate. A high score means the item photographs well and shows strong resale signals — it does not confirm the item is genuine. Luxury items require professional authentication before any significant purchase.

What Trending Score means

Trending Score rates how in-demand the item is right now in the resale market, based on demand, velocity, platform fit, recency, and scarcity. Items scoring 70+ tend to sell faster and command stronger prices. Items below 40 may take longer to move or require the right buyer.

What resale estimate means

The resale price range shows what similar items are currently selling for on secondhand platforms. The max buy price is calculated from that range — it's the most you should pay if you want a reasonable margin when you resell.

These are estimates based on current market data, not quotes or guarantees. Actual sale prices vary based on condition, platform, photos, timing, and buyer demand.

What Buying Advice means

Buying Advice summarizes the full analysis into a clear recommendation:

  • Buy — item shows good resale potential at the estimated buy price
  • Hold — item has long-term value but may not turn quickly (e.g. legacy luxury brands)
  • Pass — resale signals are too weak to justify the buy

Buying Advice also includes risk level (Low / Medium / High) and seller negotiation tips when applicable. It's a starting point — your knowledge of the local market and the specific item always matters.

What Flippi does not guarantee

Flippi does not guarantee sale prices, resale timelines, or item authenticity. All estimates are based on photo analysis and market data — they are buying guidance only. Authenticity cannot be confirmed from photos alone. Verify luxury items independently before making significant purchases. Real Score is a marketability signal, not an authentication certificate.
